[edit] Plot
Nancy is helping Rose, a friend of Nancy's house maid, get settled into an old Victorian mansion in San Francisco and with renovations. But strange accidents are happening, and it's up to Nancy to figure out who, or what, is trying to scare everyone away. According to legend, a fortune in long-lost gold is hidden somewhere on the property and someone is determined to find it that's why someone was trying to scare everyone away.

- The little voice of the disembodied head easter egg in the attic is the error sound that plays on the developer's tool.
- The ghostly voice in the hallway is from the game's designer.
- In Abby's room on her desk, there is a magazine with an article about Mattie Jensen, the same article that you can read in Stay Tuned for Danger, but you can barely see it.
- In Louis's briefcase is a newspaper clipping about Rick Arlen from Stay Tuned for Danger in which Nancy's name is mentioned.
- There are many ways of accidents in this game where you have to use the second chance. Some of them are:
- loosening the chandelier to much.
- not putting out the fire in time.
- going through the secret passage without a lantern.
- letting the culprit get away.
