Mesopithecus ("middle monkey") is an extinct genus of Old World monkey.
The 40 cm (1 ft 4 in) long creature looked like a macaque and was probably the ancestor of today's gray langurs. Mesopithecus was adapted to both walking and climbing, possessing a slender body with long, muscular limbs and flexible fingers.
