Mathematics Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) is a current program that is building in schools around the United States. It is devoted to encouraging students to pursue math, science, and technology-related studies. In this program, students are mandated to study scientific findings of much consequence (such as the atomic theory, the cell, and diseases such as HIV/AIDS), as well as design many items for nationwide competitions of students. Commonly, there is a Bridge Building Competition, a Mousetrap Car Competition, and various mathematical competitions, among others.
Mesa includes Math competition; high school against high school, middle school against middle school.
