Category:Mesoamerican calendars
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This category is for articles relating to calendars and almanacs used by various Mesoamerican civilizations and peoples, most particularly in pre-Columbian times.
See the main article Mesoamerican calendars.
Note: Many aspects of the calendric systems which developed in Mesoamerica are common to most, if not all literate or pre-literate Mesoamerican cultures, although each developed, synchronised and named these in their own way. Therefore, while it would be appropriate (for example) to have articles relating to the calendric systems adopted by the Maya civilization in their specific sub-category (Category:Maya calendars), where these articles also document aspects used by other Mesoamerican cultures as well they could also be assigned to this category.
