[edit] Gandalf

Hello, did you see my edit summary on this article? [1] The only spelling I've seen Tolkien use is Middle-earth, with a lowercase e — grab a copy of The Lord of the Rings and check for yourself. Feezo (Talk) 14:28, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Do you have any of books handy? I'm looking right now at The Return of the King (Second edition, Houghton Mifflin Company, 1965), The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien (First edition, same publisher, 1995), and The Silmarillion (first edition, George Allen & Unwin, 1977), all of which consistenly use the spelling "Middle-earth".
