[edit] TheMagazine

As for why this article was deleted, I'd ask the user who prodded the article for deletion (Aaron Brenneman) why he did so, and take it up with him. I am merely the administrator who deleted the article after 5 days, per the guidelines at Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. I noticed you re-created the article -- doing so may lead to the article being deleted again. I will probably prod it for deletion soon, per CSD G4. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 03:52, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] permission to use images

Please stop uploading images that are intended to be permission to use on Wikipedia. We do not accept such images. Please see Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#I3. We accept images into two broad categories here; fair use and free license. If you have questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. --Durin 21:16, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Not in the way you want to do so. We do not permit galleries of fair use images on Wikipedia. If you were to create an article about a specific edition of the magazine, then it would be appropriate to have the specific, relevant cover appear in the article. However, it would not be appropriate to do as you have been doing; creating a gallery of covers. --Durin 21:24, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
  • I'd be happy to work with you when you want to upload images. Just drop me a note and I can assist you. As for the review links, I'm sorry but I'm removing them. TheMagazine simple isn't notable enough as a link. --Durin 21:36, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] TheMagazine

This article has been deleted three times now for notability issues. You may wish to read Wikipedia:Notability (web). With an alexa ranking of nearly 4 million, this website has yet to become notable, barring some information regarding its notability per the above link. --Durin 21:21, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I've also removed a number of links you have put here to TheMagazine. Please understand; this is not hostility towards you in any respect. We simply try to focus on encyclopedic content. I recognize you are trying to do some good, but in the context of TheMagazine not yet achieving any particular fame, the inclusion of links to it on Wikipedia constitutes a form of spam.
  • Are there any awards TheMagazine has won or has it been mentioned in main stream media somewhere? --Durin 21:27, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:TheMagazine.logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TheMagazine.logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
