Meritage can be used to describe wine made all over the world.
- Not so. The Meritage Association will not license the name to non-American wineries. I know, we tried to so so a couple of years ago for a South African winery,

- Perhaps they have changed their rules, as The Meritage Association's member list currently shows one licensee of the trademark from Australia, three from Canada, and one from Israel. (I recently had a Canadian Meritage) Walter Moar 02:42, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
