Talk:Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is the US Sprinter really available with a gasoline engine? Will anyone write an article about the Mercedes-Benz T1 van?!

[edit] Mercedes-Benz Connection
To be clear, are the Dodge/Freightliner Sprinters sold in North America manufactured by Mercedes-Benz? Which year-models have the inline-5 turbodiesel?
- All model years from 1995 to 2006 are using the 5 cylinder turbodiesel.194.25.108.84 13:20, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Year models from about 2004 on of the 2.7 liter turbo diesel have indeed been plaqued with turbo resonater failures, sometimes with multiple failures within only a few thousand miles. There is a solution for the large problem with the Turbo Resonator failures. These failures are showing up in RVS and commercial vans and trucks. Daimler does indeed know about them and has made a good faith effort to have their contractor that makes the part revise it three times so far, to the best of our knowledge, but many Sprinter owners are still being left in the middle of nowhere when the stock part fails.
We learned of this problem after taking our Sprinter into our local Dodge dealer for a minor problem, and knowing we are new product developers, they asked us to develop a solution. Our company now offers an aluminum billet replacement for the plastic part. Our part is designed to last the life of the vehicle and never leave Sprinter owners stranded again. Our local dodge dealer outfitted all six of their sprinter delivery van with our part and we now have thousands of trouble free miles of testing on the parts. For more info please email me at jriordan@riordanco.com and put in the subject line Sprinter turbo resonator replacement and I will be happy to email you information on the fix. Takes about 20 minutes. Costs $89.95 plus shipping and tax for CA residents. Well worth it for the peace of mind of knowing you will finish your vacation or workday without being stranded. Satisfaction is 100% guaranteed.
[edit] New 2006 Sprinter
There's no mention of the new generation Sprinter [1], which is already available in Europe. GagHalfrunt 13:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

I saw a Mercedes Sprinter on the road last sunday, but I didn't notice what side the wheel was on.--Jnelson09 18:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dodge Sprinters in America
There are several Dodge Sprinters in my area... they have the standard American left-handed steering, and I believe have gasoline engines. Ahanix1989 13:33, 09 August 2006
According to Dodge's website (www.dodge.com) the Sprinter is only available with a diesel engine.Dusty duster 17:17, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dodge Van
Would've been nice if they had kept the American design. The Sprinter is too tall and has small wheels...good for high density Europe but too foreign for the US. RMartinez
[edit] Ambulances...
Might there be too many pictures of Sprinter ambulances? 24.197.165.120 04:45, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Who wrote this ****?

- "This is a peculiar statement because where is it that 3.5% of the available market is "immense popularity"?"
Between statements like that and the rest of the copy sounding like a promotional ad for the Sprinter, this article could use some major cleanup...
- Please don't use such language (as was in the title). Thank you! :) Strawberry Island 00:20, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
