[edit] Release date?

Can you justify the change in release dates? I ask only because there is a user of this site who makes a habit of posting false release dates for music. Thank you. Pakaran 03:42, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

The original article had an incorrect release date, which was actually the release date of the newest "a perfect circle" albums. this album was released in 2000, which i double checked at amazon.com. Bonfire2k4 04:08, 16 Dec 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Mer de Noms

I'm not sure how many of you know about this, but if you combine the first two words of the name, the meaning becomes "shit names". Mer de Noms-->Merde Noms--67.177.36.200 09:40, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

Indeed. I can't say with 100% certainty that either Maynard or Billy knew that at the time, but I certainly wouldn't put that sort of intentional wordplay past MJK. --Jemiller226 08:55, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Sea of names is also in a line from a poem by the Islamic mystic Ibn ul-'Arabi. The line was one of the influences for Berger and Luckmann's The Social Construction of Reality. TheTyrant 01:50, 3 November 2006 (UTC)TheTyrant

[edit] Gord

Maynard on vocals and gord? WTF is a gord?

You are, of course, reffering to the last track on the album "Over", which is credited to Maynard for Vocals & Gord. I have no idea. I already tried looking it up on Wikipedia, so don't bother. Underwater 19:22, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Gourd? --jh51681 07:41, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, that makes a lot of sense. Does that mean it's a typo in the album, or are both spellings apropriate? Underwater 21:38, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Symbols

Is there anywhere or any way to make the symbols into a font? Also the symbols on the translation chart have a signature at the bottom which when translated says "monovitae" which i think means "one life" any idea why that is? Sinthetic 21:59, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

I believe there is a font made of the chart, or several, around the internet. My question is, when read from upside down, translated, the symbols on "Mer De Noms" become "La Cascade Des Prenoms", which, I think may mean something like "The Cascade of First Names" or something. According to the online dictionaries, "vitae" is "of life" or "lives". Would that mean "One of Life" or "One Lives"? If the latter, I think it might connect to the album, considering it was written about people Maynard James Keenan has come to know. (Kount 06:31, 11 January 2007 (UTC))
