Merthyr Tydfil railway station is a railway station serving the town of Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales. It is the terminus of the Merthyr branch of the Merthyr Line. Passenger services are provided by Arriva Trains Wales.
A station, called "Merthyr High Street", was first opened on this site by the Vale of Neath Railway in 1853. It was used by trains of the Great Western, Taff Vale, London & North Western, Brecon & Merthyr and Rhymney Railways. The passenger facilities were rebuilt by British Rail on a corner of the original site in 1974 and again in 1996[1][2].
