Meow Mix was a bar on New York City's Lower East Side. Meow Mix catered mainly to lesbians, but performing bands would usually attract a diverse audience, and patrons tended to be welcoming to all. It used to host "Xena nights" for the show Xena: Warrior Princess.
Meow Mix closed in late 2004. The space later reopened, conspicuously without its stage, as "Vasmay Lounge", the name chosen as an homage to the bar that had occupied the site during the 1970s and 1980s.
The bar was featured prominently in Kevin Smith's film Chasing Amy.
