[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Andy here, just wanted to drop a note saying hi and welcome to the community. Fyi, there's a Malaysian wikipedians' notice board if you'd like to help out on writing articles related to local stuff. --Andylkl 06:47, 3 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Hi Andy
Hello Andy and thanx for welcoming me. You're the same Andy of blog "Witty Squirrel" aren't you? Seems we have more things in common than I thought :) Anyway I am interested to work on the entries you proposed on the Malaysian page. Where shall we begin? 04/11/04 11:55 am ~~ how the heck did u include the time? I had to do this manually :(
- Yep, he and I are the same person... =P Pick anyone of 'em! I'm currently not working big on any page until exams are over... Btw, you can sign off by typing 4 tildes (~~~~) or by clicking the second button from the right... =) --Andylkl 06:04, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry MENJ
I was the moron who kept editing your bio info. I did it out of spite and bcoz I don't like your rhetoric in your website. I also dislike your handling of criticism and your houdning of Rajan's website (I'm not Rajan, by the way.) But I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken such a approcah in expressing my feelings. You have every right to free speech like everybody else. This is not the way to conduct civil discourse. I aplogize once again for my attacks on your Wiki entry.
[edit] Hello
Hello! Menj, I have seen that you are a Malaysian. I would be happy if you could list your name on Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Malaysia, and also please look up at Wikipedia:Malaysia-related topics notice board. Nice to meet you, for it also happens that I am a strong supporter of Islam and anti-American, and I am willing to work with you on wikipedia, if you wish.
May Allah give his blessings to you and your family! Mr Tan 09:48, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hello
Hello, Menj. Just wanted to let you know that Rajan R, at his blog site, claims that someone was framing him. If so, the User:Rajanr will be blocked indefinitely. Please see the relevant discussion at Wikipedia:Help_desk#Imposter. Thanks! Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 15:43, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
- Frankly I am skeptical that "Rajanr" is not the real Rajan, but thanks. Menj 05:37, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Hsu Chi.jpg
Would you care to add a source to this image and explain why it should be in the public domain? Thank you. (If no source is supplied within seven days, the image will be deleted.) Lupo 14:11, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
- The image still has no source. Also, if you claim "fair use", you should provide a detailed fair use rationale addressing the four points of fair use. Lupo 11:15, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Kosova & Albania
Hello Menj! I am very surprised to see that you have put Kosova map on your user page. I am a citizen of Kosova. I am curious to know how you became familiar with Kosova.--Pjetër Bogdani jr. 04:59, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Zakir_naik.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zakir_naik.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 09:29, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Nik aziz.jpg
Did you actually take this photo? I could have sworn I've seen it elsewhere, and if you didn't take it, you can't legally release it into the public domain. Johnleemk | Talk 15:52, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Took it from one of the Pas sites. Should be Public Domain, isn't it? Menj 03:07, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- Not unless they actually say it's public domain. Why don't you link us to the page you took it from? That's normally required of all images that Wikipedians haven't taken. (The reason nobody's talked to you about it yet is probably because you incorrectly tagged the image as an image taken by yourself released into the public domain.) Johnleemk | Talk 09:45, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

- Well if you expect the party to explicitly say that the photo is public domain, then there will never be a picture of Nik Aziz on the Pas page. I'm afraid I don't recall the page but I know that I take that photo from a Pas website and you very well know my connections with Pas. I stand by that. Menj 15:28, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ramlee.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Ramlee.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Image:Tengku Razaleigh.jpg
Again, this image needs a source, as does the image of Nik Aziz I talked with you about. If not, they will eventually be deleted. I have not formally commenced the procedure for deleting these images (as would normally be done) because I know you, but if you don't add a source so they can be credited, then they have to be deleted because of American copyright law. (Fair use isn't fair if you don't even credit the copyright owner.) Johnleemk | Talk 13:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Quil2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Quil2.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Image:Zakir naik.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zakir naik.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dr Zak 15:04, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
