Menis Koumantareas

Menis Koumantareas was born in Athens in 1931. Being a son of a wealthy Athenian family, he tried to study at the Law School and at the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens, but both did not satisfy him. He claims that he attended University classes at the Kolonaki square cafes with "professors" personalities such as Manos Hadjidakis, Yannis Tsarouchis, Nikos Gatsos etc. Although he had started writing very young he did not published until 1962. His first novel was entitled "ΤΑ ΜΗΧΑΝΑΚΙΑ" (The Flippers).
