Mendeleyevsk

Mendeleyevsk (Russian: Менделе́евск) is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located on the Toyma River, 238 km east of Kazan. Population: 22,027 (2002 Census); 18,085 (1989 Census).
The settlement grew around a chemical plant established in 1868. It was granted town status in 1967.
