Men, Women & Children
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Men, Women & Children (formerly known as Torpedo) are a rock band formed in 2004 (see 2004 in music) by ex-Glassjaw guitarist, Todd Weinstock. The band uses a combination of post-punk guitar similar to The Rapture and disco synthesizers akin to LCD Soundsystem. The band is currently signed to Reprise Records, and has just released their first self-titled album. In 2006, they filmed their first music video that coincides with the first single from the album, Dance In My Blood.
The band is currently touring heavily to promote Men, Women & Children. They have supported acts such as Metric, Gang of Four, Rx Bandits, 30 Seconds to Mars, Brand New, lostprophets, Panic! at the Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, Head Automatica and Forward Russia.
While on tour with 30 Seconds to Mars on the the MTV2 Presents Welcome to the Universe $2 Bill Tour, their tour van, trailer, and equipment, valued at over $100,000, was stolen while on a tour stop in Detroit. They have set up a Paypal account for donations so that they can continue their formidable and hectic touring schedule. 30 Seconds to Mars's fanbase, the Echelon, have also collected donations to help in Men Women & Children's efforts.
On the October 23, 2006 episode of the NBC show Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip titled "The Wrap Party", Dance In My Blood was prominently featured in the background during the show.
Frontman TJ Penzone has mentioned a side project with Blood Brothers drummer Mark Gajadhar. Information regarding the project remains TBA
