[edit] Removal of redirect, Elms

Somebody has seen fit to redirect the Morton Accolade page in order to remove the trademark TM from the name, on the rather dubious pretext that it makes it look like spam. (A) I think this is nonsense. (B) He, or she, has only done it to this one tradename. (C) I don't know how to cancel the redirect! Would much appreciate your help. [edit] Elms again

Many thanks for your advice on copying, regret still on a learning curve here. Merry Christmas, Ptelea 13:50, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Elms

Dear Melburnian Much appreciate the excellent photos. Have suggested to editor MPF that the cultivar listings are restricted to their respective species pages, otherwise the main page will be overwhelmed. There are literally dozens of American, Chinese, Japanese and Siberian Elm cultivars raised in North America. Best wishes Ptelea 10:26, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Melburnian. Thanks for your information on Claytons which I have now rewritten and moved to the correct spelling. If you have access to a digital camera, it would be great if you could photograph the bottles in your possession and add that to the article. I can do any graphics preparation if you need help. dramatic 08:23, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Who I am and what I am doing here

Hello, I'm Myrtone (the strict Australian wikipedian). Get it, I'm a strict Australian wikipedian and I am senstive about wikipedia policies and language used in my talk and I am quite prepered to have big talks with administrators and even get a consensus (how do I get a consensus) for being able to enforce my requirements. Anyway, I'll leave you to it.

[edit] Favourite Foreign destination

Do you have a favourite Foreign destination? Myrtone (the strict Australian wikipedian) (talk)

WikiProject AFL Hi mate, if you're a fan of Aussie rules, I suggest you take a look at WikiProject AFL (join by adding your name to the list of participants) and the Australian rules football portal. Also take a look at Category:VFL/AFL players and feel free to drop me a line with any questions, or on the WP:AFL discussion page. Cheers!

[edit] Beaconsfield map

Hi, Welcome from me too. I really liked Image:Beaconsfield Tasmania Location Map 2.png. Since it is GFDL, you might like to consider uploading it to commons where it will be available for other wikimedia projects such as other language wikipedias and wikinews. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on my talk page. Regards--A Y Arktos\talk 01:07, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Golden Wattle

Thanks for the terrific picture :-) --Arktos talk 08:32, 30 August 2006 (UTC) It is a beautiful spring day and I am changing my user name to Golden Wattle. I hope you don't mind if I use your terrific picture to illustrate my new user name. I haven't got a good reason for Arktos and it is too indicative of the northern hemisphere and means bear in greek or or apparently the goddess of last light - too gloomy for me. Regards--Arktos talk 23:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Note

Updated DYK query On 2 September 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Lone Pine (tree), which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

[edit] Well done on your work with Melbourne Town Halls

Great stuff ... I'm also trying to contribute myself. I've been working mostly through the south eastern suburbs you look like you're doing the northern suburbs, which is even better in terms of coverage ! --Biatch 09:48, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good work!

Just thought I'd say your work referencing and improving the Melbourne articles following the mass infobox upgrade has been noticed and appreciated. Orderinchaos78 12:04, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! :) The infobox project would have been so much faster if I'd stuck to just upgrading infoboxes. For Melbourne I ended up designing an Excel spreadsheet to collect the data in bulk, then imported it into an Access database and created some code to translate it to an infobox. You'll find some random stuff around the place - like an entire article on Christmas Hills, Victoria which came into being because on looking at it in the Melway it seemed to warrant more than a stub, and Mentone, Victoria which made a bold claim about politics that turned out to be true, and ended up with a politics table. Some of these places I really want to visit now! Especially some of the more remote parts of the Mornington Peninsula, and the One Tree Hill reserve at Christmas Hills (I'll laugh if I see "Where did you hear about us?" in a visitor book) Orderinchaos78 13:36, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the good work on Mooroolbark. :) Orderinchaos78 05:17, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I've been trying out this Inkscape thing for the route signs and thought I'd employ it to draw the intersection in such a way as not to murder it when it got shrunk to the size needed for the article. Orderinchaos78 05:46, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Love the images! You're doing a good job there. The Wonga Park one in particular is really nice. Re:Commons - you should create a category "Pictures by Melburnian" or something and put that in each of your shots so that you can keep them all together, and others can see your work :) Orderinchaos78 08:52, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

No worries, I'm only passing on my own learnings of a couple of weeks ago :) One weird thing about having most Melb suburbs watchlisted is the weird vandalism one sees here and there. Like this: [1] Orderinchaos78 12:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
My god, that was funny :) Reminds me of Winthrop (a Perth suburb) at its finest. Orderinchaos78 13:42, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cheers

G'day,

I appreciate your fixing of my attempt to revert the vandalism throughout the Eucalypt entry. I had tried to revert to the previous 'clean' version of the article, but I'm still a newb at Wiki. Any advice toward combatting the vandals would be gratefully accepted, regards, Jugurtha3 02:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Citing APNI

Thanks for the comment. I love it when someone opens up a friendly discussion then waits patiently for a response instead of leaping in and making a change. So very rare. I must practice that more myself.

You are of course absolutely right. I've made the change.[2] Hesperian 03:53, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Euan cummings

Hello. I notice you blanked vandalism on Talk:Euan cummings. The page did not have an article associated with it, so I deleted it.

The next time you blank a talk page with only vandalism edits, do check whether the accompanying article exists; if there's no article, add {{db-talk}} to the talk page so a sysop can delete it (per CSD criteria G8. Thanks! Awyong J. M. Salleh 01:41, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kangaroo Paw

In re this edit, can you identify the plant, in that case? Jkelly 19:22, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Pardon my interjection; this is probably Anigozanthos flavidus (Tall Kangaroo Paw); see kangaroo paw for more information. Hesperian 02:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I'd agree with that--Melburnian 07:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your kind words on my RfA! It's hard to believe that was over 3 months ago now... And as always the pictures on your user page are brilliant. I shall have to put up some of my own, although I don't think I'll be taking any today - 42°C heat :| Orderinchaos78 13:25, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
