"Melt / Yeh Yeh Yeh" was the third and final single from Melanie C's second solo album, Reason. The original plan was to release "Yeh Yeh Yeh" as the 3rd single. But shortly before this could happen, Melanie injured her knee in the football games. Because Melanie couldn't promote an upbeat song with an injury, the UK release was cancelled, but nevertheless it was released to several European countries. "Melt", being an easier song to promote with an injury, was added to the mix, resulting in the double single. It was released on November 10, 2003 but there were numerous problems. On most CD1's of the set, the tracklisting was accidentally swapped so that "Ýeh Yeh Yeh" was actually the first track on the CD. Due to this misprint, and following strong competition, lack of promotion, and distribution problems, the single entered the charts at a very dismal twenty-seven, sealing Melanie's fate with Virgin Records, and further hindering any hope for the album's success. The single sold just 10,000 copies. However, it peaked at number-thirteen in Spain.
