Melodyne is digital audio pitch correction software developed by Celemony. Melodyne detects the musical content of an audio signal and breaks it down into its notes so that it can be manipulated.

Melodyne is used by many Record producers around the world to perfectly tune and manipulate audio signals, typically vocals. The public first saw Melodyne at the Winter NAMM Show in 2001 and it has since won various awards.

Melodyne also has more features and audio manipulation tools than just pitch correction, such as tools for time-shifting audio and converting audio into MIDI data. Melodyne can be integrated into many DAWs as it can be used with ReWire, VST, RTAS or AU.

Melodyne comes in many variations, from the budget single track Melodyne uno to the professional Melodyne studio. A cut down version of the software is bundled with other software houses products (such as Digidesign’s ‘Ignition Pack’) as Melodyne essential.
