Mellum

Mellum is an island north of the Butjadingen peninsula. Mellum is the smallest Eastfrisian island, and is one of the 3 uninhabited islands of Germany. It is about 1,850 acres large and has been under natural protection since 1993. There is only 1 house on Mellum, which was built in 1907 and can be used for wildlife watching & research purposes only.
