[edit] 10,000 years later
The curse of petrification wore off 10,000 years later, and Zieg began to live a normal life, marrying Claire (Haschel's daughter) and fathering Dart. However, Melbu's spirit was inside Zieg's Dragoon spirit, and when Zieg used the spirit to fight the Black Monster (Rose), Melbu awakened and controlled Zieg for 18 years.
[edit] 18 years later
Melbu Frahma, in the body of Zieg, disguised himself as his old nemesis, Empeor Diaz, to manipulate a Wingly man named Lloyd to get him the 3 Divine Moon Objects--Moon Gem, Moon Dagger, and Moon Mirror--to destroy the 3 remaining Signet Spheres that will have the Moon That Never Sets fall from the sky and awaken the god. When Dart and the present day Dragoons confronted Diaz, he unmasked himself to be Zieg -- Dart's father. He explained to Rose that the girl she killed (Princess Louvia) was not the Moon Child she was looking for. It was Shana, Dart's childhood friend.
- The Dragoons try to stop him, but he always destroys the Signet Sphere just as they arrive. Finally, the Moon falls to Endiness, and he leaves to awaken the God, the Dragoons following in his wake.
[edit] Inside the Moon That Never Sets
At the core of the Moon, Dart and friends finally confront 'Zieg', who has placed Shana within the Moon's core, activating the God. After 'Zieg' steals Dart's Red-Eyed Dragoon Spirit, the Dragoons fight and defeat 'Zieg'. But when 'Zieg' claims, "The time has come," his eyes glow green, and a familiar face (to Rose) comes out. It is Melbu Frahma. Explaining his evil plan, he also removes Shana from the Moon's core so that HE can become the God of Destruction, telling the players that he just needed Shana to power up the Moon. (When he does this, the lighting of the screen changes from blue to red, perhaps to signify the purity of Shana's soul as opposed to the evil of his soul.) However, he was beaten at the end of the game, and Endiness was saved.
[edit] Forms
Like many other RPG final bosses, Melbu Frahma comes in different forms. In this game he has four and goes through six generations to do it. Here is a description:
[edit] Number 1
Melbu appears in a slug-like body attached to the end of the stage, similar to Bizzaro-Sephiroth of Final Fantasy VII. He moves his Tentacles to attack an individual Dragoon, uses an all-ally attack with magic, and summons three Virages to blast them and take many Hit Points away. After he had done that, he forms a defensive shield-trap. If the player is Human and attacks Melbu Frahma with an Addition, he will shout "Fools!" and send you to the ground. When the player damages Melbu enough, he will warp the Dragoons and himself to the First Generation. This form can usually be defeated easily by players.
[edit] Number 2
Melbu Frahma is an unknown creature that wields a Sith Lightsaber-like weapon that attacks a single Dragoon. He will then suck a party member inside his body. However, he/she can't be harmed when you attack Melbu. His two strongest attacks include shooting the character he sucked in back at another character doing a lot of damage to both and an energy beam (thought by players to be his version of Dart's Divine Dragon Cannon) which will do a lot of damage to 1, 2, or, all 3 members of your party. When he's "had enough," he sends the player through the Second, Third, and Fourth Generations. This form is much harder to defeat then the first and with a weak party can be almost nearly unbeatable by the player.
[edit] Number 3
Now Melbu Frahma is a machine gun-like weapon that has the ability to change nighttime to daytime. In nighttime he will form an attack that looks like he is sending Dart and company to Earth, but he didn't. Then he summons four Bomb Stars to attack the party. In daytime, he can summon a Fire-based attack, but Dart will be the only Dragoon unharmed because he carries Red-Eye Dragon Armor making him invulnerable to fire. Once the player had nearly reduced the evil creature's Hit Points halfway, Melbu Frahma will send the player through the Fifth Generation, which seems to be showing us the Creation of Earth. In the Sixth and Final Generation, we are shown the growth, life, and death of civilization; the death soon to be caused by the God of Destruction. This form is by far the easiest of all of Melbu's forms because his attacks are not as devastating as before.
[edit] Number 4
In his final form, the evil Wingly has a scorpion like body with a Chinese hat on his head. He can send Dragoons into another dimension where--in his original body--can attack a player. He can also summon Monsters and reduce the damage done to him by Dragoon attacks by half. When the player has finally taken away all of Melbu Frahma's Hit Points, Dart will automatically transform into the Divine Dragoon and fire the Divine Dragon Cannon for the final blow. After the final blow is shown, so is the ending cinematic. An interesting fact about this battle is that the Melbu's monsters that he summons can be controlled by the player when Melbu replaces one of your characters with a monster. In which they seem to be very helpful since they can do damage to Melbu while Melbu can not attack them. This battle is pretty difficult because of Melbu making Dragoon's apparently useless and the fact that he has attacks that do a lot of damage and those that are 1-hit KO's. Except if the player uses the strategy of getting one bar of SP to transform strike and then return to human status rendering Melbu's instant kill move useless
[edit] Melbu Frahma's End
In the ending sequence Melbu Frahma is shown exploding as the result of Dart's Divine Dragon Cannon attack. Rose goes to check on Zieg, while Melbu--with his last bit of strength--wants to kill the Dragoons for destroying his plan. Zieg and Rose, using the Dragon Buster from Lloyd, used it on the God of Destruction, and finally sent Melbu Frahma to hell. But the two Dragoons, Zieg Feld and Rose, went with him, and so did the Moon That Never Sets and the Divine Tree. After that everything in the game returns to the way it was before Melbu destroyed.
