The Melbourne University Sri Lankan Students' Association (MUSLSA) is one of the leading social clubs at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Established during the 1980s by a group of students seeking to promote and nurture their cultural ties to Sri Lanka, the club, despite its name, it is in no way exclusionary and currently boasts a core membership of almost 400 students of all backgrounds and ethnicities.

[edit] Activities

MUSLSA holds a number of events annually, both as social activities and in order to raise money for various charities. These include sports days, trivia nights, an annual ball and a comedy stage production.

[edit] Theatre Productions

Of particular note are MUSLSA's comedy theatre productions, held at the beginning of each year in order to raise money for charity. First organised as a one-off event in 1998, it became a regular institution in 2002 with the production of Conquests and Coconuts. Noted for their quality, the productions have, over the years, won a number of nominations and awards at Melbourne University Theatre's annual Gala Night.
