[edit] Early Years

Melanie was born in the small village of Cap-Pelé, New Brunswick. On her tenth birthday, Melanie received a karaoke machine from her father. Her and her friends would sing along and hang out in the basement or just simply hang out on the beach. Melanie was known to be a shy child, when it came to singing, but one day her mother was walking down to the basement. She thought she heard LeAnn Rimes singing in the basement, but it turns out it was Melanie, so she did not want to disturb Melanie's singing and quietly watched and was amazed of the sound that came out of Melanie's mouth. No one had ever heard her singing voice before. Once she heard her sing, she tried her hardest to convince Melanie to try out for a local singing competition, Melanie finished second place, and beat many other people who were three times her age. As years went on, Melanie's love for music grew as she found out her favorite singers like, LeAnn Rimes, Martina Mcbride, and the Dixie Chicks. Melanie then realized that her dream was to become a singer.
