Melanie Mayron

Melanie Mayron (born October 20, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actress and director best known for playing photographer Melissa Steadman on the ABC drama thirtysomething, which ran from 1987 to 1991. She currently appears as a judge in the reality show "Looking for Stars" on the Starz channel.

Mayron trained as an actress at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has been active as a director for a number of years. In 1995, she directed The Baby-Sitters Club, a film based upon The Baby-sitters Club series of books. She also directed the movie Slap Her... She's French (2002), starring Piper Perabo (which was released under the name of She Gets What She Wants when it aired on the Family Channel in January 2005). In addition, she has served as director for a number of television shows such as Providence, Dawson's Creek, Ed, State of Grace, Nash Bridges, and Wasteland.

With her father, she has developed a line of skin care products for children, called Good Baby.

Never married, she is the mother of twins, Olivia and Miles, born in 1998.
