Mel Krajden

Mel Krajden is a physician, research microbiologist and public health administrator in Vancouver, Canada. He is most well-known for appearances in the media regarding health-related news.
Mel Krajden's commentary and analysis on public health issues have been widely publicized across Canada in the popular press. Krajden reports on current biomedical issues as they emerge into the public consciousness. These have included the proliferation of Mad Cow Disease (CJD), bioterrorism [1], the 2002 SARS Epidemic [2] [3] [4] [5], West Nile Virus [6], Hepatitis C [7] and Avian Flu, but also include public safety issues such as the integrity of Canada's blood bank.
He currently serves as the Director of Hepatitis Services at the BCCDC, as an adjunct scientist with Canadian Blood Services and as a lecturer at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine.
