Mel is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Belluno in the Italian region Veneto, located about 70 km north of Venice and about 13 km southwest of Belluno and about 13 km northest of Feltre. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,311 and an area of 85.7 km2.[1]
In the territory in Mel there is the very beautiful and very ancient Zumelle's castle. The town is well-known for the numerous cultural activities, very interesting are the shows of painting in the old "Palazzo delle Contesse" and the very important choral music festival in July in the park of Guarnieri palace.
