Mehran

Mehran (Persian: مهران ) which is composed of two parts: Mehr (Persian: مهر = kindness; sun ) + An (Persian: آن ), is a Persian word meaning "kind like the Sun", since the Sun shines everywhere with no reservation. This name may refer to:
- A male name in Persian language. Female counterparts are Mehrandokht (Persian: مهراندخت ) and Mehraneh (Persian: مهرانه ).
- An old name for the Indus River.
- A character in the Shahnama.
- A city in Ilam Province of Iran.
- An area in Greater Tehran.
