[edit] History
The first broadcast was on Friday May 23, 1969, from 12:00 till 14:00. The show was presented by Joost den Draayer. Desmond Dekker & The Aces were the chart toppers at that time with "The Israelites". Ever since December 4, 1970, the chart was composed by the NOS. Den Draayer kept presenting the show till the date of April 2, 1971. After that, Felix Meurders replaced him. Ever since 1978, the year end charts are based on sales.
The radio-broadcast remained on Radio 3 and since the '85 transmitted by the TROS. Only during the period of 1993-1995, the show was broadcasted by other broadcasters. Currently (since October 2005), the chart is hosted by Bart Arens.
On television, the list was used by "Top Pop" from 1974 till 1978 and from 1981 till 1986. Since September 2000, Top of the Pops NL uses the Mega Top 100 and Single Top 100.
Since May 2004, the MTV and Radio 3FM airplay data are also featured in the composition of the chart. Exact one year later, digital downloads were also included. The chart for only single sales kept on existing though, under the name of "Single Top 100", while the numbers 51 — 100 are still based on the combination of sales and airplay.
Currently, the "Stichting Mega Top 100" owns the so-called "Mega Charts" (Mega Top 50, Dutch Top 40 and Single Top 100).
