Mega-Bug
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mega-Bug is a 1982 computer game originally designed by Bob Bishop and programmed for the TRS-80 Color Computer by Steve Bjork. The game is, in some ways similar to Pac-Man. The player controls a small character, which resembles a robotic claw, as it moves around in a maze eating white dots. Meanwhile, "bugs" move around the gameboard chasing the player-controlled character. The game ends when one of the "bugs" touches the player-controlled character. The goal of the game is to eat all of the dots in the maze without being touched by a "bug". The game is somewhat unusual for TRS-80 Coco games in that Mega-Bug features very basic digitized speech. For example, when a "bug" touches the computer-controlled character, the "bugs" exclaim "We gotcha!".
The game was designed for Datasoft Inc. and distributed by Tandy.
In Australia, the game was re-branded Bug Attack.
The music for Mega-Bug was based on La Cucaracha.
The game was originally released for the Apple II as Dung Beetles.
