[edit] Jwrosenzweig

Like the other applicants above, I realize the straits that the MC may soon find itself in, now that several of its more active members (as far as I can tell) will be moving to the AC. Given my experiences as an arbitrator (and my attempts to reduce conflict here at Wikipedia....with varying levels of success, I admit), I feel that I can be of use as a mediator. I also have long advocated mediation as a more visible and more-frequently-used step in dispute resolution here, and think it would be very interesting to be involved in how the MC's work changes now that the AC is loaded with good mediators who understand how mediation works here (since I think us AC folks have valued mediation without fully understanding how it has gone here). I have been involved in disputes everywhere from Talk:Curse of the Bambino to Talk:Jesus, and I hope that my record at Wikipedia inspires the community's confidence that, although I am not always successful, I enter disputes with the serious intention of fairly and calmly resolving the argument. I am happy to answer any questions, and of course if the MC feels that it has too many members (or that I am otherwise not suited for the task), I promise I won't feel at all badly about not having the responsibility. :-) Thanks, Jwrosenzweig 23:54, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)

P.S. Ambi, I'm flattered, but I have to say, no one can "replace" sannse! The most anyone can hope to do is make contributions to help lessen the impact of sannse's departure (and the departure of three other excellent mediators, don't forget!). :-) Jwrosenzweig 09:14, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Mediation committee:

Absolutely, unconditionally support. Will be a brilliant replacement for sannse. Ambi 02:47, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Outside opinions:

Although I would suggest this candidate may wish to avoid certain conflict areas, I strongly support this nomination for a position on the Mediation Committee. - Amgine 00:11, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Mediation probably suits his personality better than arbitration. An excellent candidate; would be overqualified if such a thing were possible. --Michael Snow 02:35, 27 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Support of course - sannse (talk) 16:58, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)
