This nomination has only been up for about 4 days. However, he's gotten 6 mediators support and I offered the mediation committee mailing list the chance to veto with 24 hours time, no one vetoed him, Sam Korn, or Sasquatch. After significant pressuring from certain elements within and without the committee, I've agreed to toss my hat in to the ring. Users who are familiar with me will know that I have a strong policy of remaining neutral on most issues and pushing for those initatives that make Wikipedia a stronger community and more friendly place. I don't promise to be the most active mediator, but I am willing to help where I can; I don't see this as any change from the position I've maintained since I joined Wikipedia. -- Essjay · Talk
