[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Steaphen 07:31, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Zeno%27s_paradoxes
Who's involved?
... Steaphen Pirie, Gordon Ross, JimWae, "Egendomligt" and others (names unknown)
What's going on?
... I've questioned the validity of the common use of geometric series in resolving the paradox of movement, as originally raised by Zeno of Elea. Geometric series cannot be used in the field of quantum physics, which is central to the issue of physical movement in quantum/small physical increments (the essential dilemma raised by Zeno).
What would you like to change about that?
... The removal of mention of geometric series as a solution, as there is no experimental evidence to support their use (in the light of new advances in quantum theory), or equal mention of alternative quantum theories which espouse the discontinuity of space-time (quotes from many physicists were originally included, but were removed against by objections)
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
... Yes, if that is deemed best. please email me as per my email address given in my profile. If this is not viewable to the mediators, then please post in appropriate sections.
