[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Todd Gallagher 22:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- Senior Military College
- Who's involved?
- User:Rillian and User:Bilbobee
- What's going on?
- I have used specific acronyms and initialisms in my articles. When they are plural, I use an apostrophe (e.g., SMC's). These two people continue to remove the apostrophe, claiming it is used only for possessive case.
- What would you like to change about that?
- This needs to stop. Wikipedia specifically states: "In June 2005, the Arbitration Committee ruled that, when either of two styles is acceptable, it is inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change. . . . If in doubt, defer to the style used by the first major contributor."
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- I do not care.
[edit] Mediator response
I am going to make sure that all parties are willing to at least attempt mediation, then take this case if they are. IronDuke 20:30, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I got one response. I'm going to enquire further, proceed with mediation if necessary, or close this case. IronDuke 14:42, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
