[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Amazingracer 23:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
MARTA, Talk:Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority
Who's involved?
Amazingracer, Kokayi, and Biomedeng
What's going on?
Kokayi is removing the notation that signifies there is a a MARTA RideStore at the Lindbergh Center Station. His arguement is that the RideStore is not in the station and should not be noted. This is true, that the RideStore is not in the station. I reverted his edits and made a notation that the Lindbergh RideStore is located in the MARTA Headquarters as noted on the MARTA System Map. Kokayi removed these new revisions. Biomedeng made a comment on the talk page concerning these deletions. However, Kokayi continued to delete any revisions made regarding the RideStore, basing it on the fact that his research said that the RideStore is not where MARTA says it is (Original Research). The lastest revert I made, I cited the fact that the RideStore is in the MARTA Headquarters with the MARTA System Map. Kokayi subsequently removed that information. The truth is there is a MARTA RideStore at Lindbergh Center, it is not in the station, but is in the MARTA Headquarters. That information is verifiable and cited above. However Kokayi continues to remove this information.
It should also be noted that Kokayi is currently involved in another mediation effort regarding his action on MARTA.
I've rebutted their postions on the Talk pages. The location of MARTA HQ is never given and can not be verified. MARTA HQ street address is located 2.5 blocks away from it's physical location. Anyone who didn't know this would be seriously mislead. And there's no reason for to further mislead Wikipedians when there's another Ridestore one station away and two others that are far more transit accessible. These editors would prefer to mislead others rather than compromise by removing one RideStore. RideStores are very important resources and need a section devoted to them. In my initial edit I included a suggestion to for such. Unfortunately, it's like AmazingRacer & BioMedEng have difficulties understanding rhetoric and reason. I've rebut their initial positions. All they do is reiterate the same positions over and over veiled with treats. It's like they're stuck in a feedback loop. So please do what you can to mediate this situation. I guess because their bullying tactics aren't working perhaps they believe they can get some backup here.

Let it be known that Google Map street addresses are consistently off by a few blocks when compared to the Satellite imagery. Just search any address and see for yourself.Amazingracer 02:29, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
What would you like to change about that?
To find a compromise that will keep Kokayi from constantly reverting the article, and to include the pertinent fact in the main article that there is a MARTA RideStore located at the Lindbergh Center Station.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Nope.

This is apparently a duplicate of Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-10-27 Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. I am closing this case to consolidate it there. --Ideogram 14:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.

Kokayi has violated the three revert rule and has reverted the article four times in the past 24 hours. I have warned him on his talk page. I also placed a warning in the talk page of the Marta article. Biomedeng 01:36, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
These are the threats I'm referring to. We are talking a about a one ACSII character changed the removal of a unverifiable reference as to MARTA HQ location. AmazingeRacer is guilty of the same infraction. Did you report his edits also? Kokayi 02:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
A revert is a revert is a revert. I don't think it matters that it is only one character (actually you also kept deleting the sentence describing the ridestore location in detail). It is not unverifiable, because Amazingracer provided you with a source. Your claim that ridestore location is confusing and far is unverified. Amazingracer only reverted the article 3 times, which is permissible according to the three revert rule. I did not report you for breaking the rule to an administratior (mostly because you are a new user who might not have been aware of the policy), but rather chose to warn you on your talk page. I did however want to bring up the concern here because you are very adamant about citing other wikipedia standards and guidelines that you claim I and the other editors are not following when you yourself are breaking rules. Biomedeng
I have now reported Kokayi for making a fifth revert after being warned about the three revert rule. Biomedeng 02:49, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
