[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Tastyummy 16:20, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- The article entitled "Indeterminacy (philosophy)". The dispute can be found in the discussion page.
- Who's involved?
- Tastyummy 16:20, 16 August 2006 (UTC) and one other user, Aey.
- What's going on?
- Aey disputes the verifiability of claims I made on this page about the work of various philosophers. I have included many direct quotes to support my statements and he or she has presented no evidence that contradicts the veracity of my statements. To my knowledge, the other user hasn't actually attempted to verify them; I could be wrong on this, but I assume so because I have cited all relevant sources and linked to numerous other articles in support of what I say.
I have just contacted an expert on the subject, Dr. William Plank of Montana State University, who founded the Quantum Nietzsche Society, which supports the statements made on this page, for his opinion and am awaiting his reply. His site can be found at [1]. To me, his publication of a book on the same subject seems to justify its presence on Wikipedia.
UPDATE: According to user:Noetica's talk page, Aey has left the English-language Wikipedia. After one incident of vandalism of my user page, nothing else notable has occurred. I thus hereby withdraw my request for a mediation case as it seems to have become unnecessary. Tastyummy 22:48, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- I would like to point out, though I will no longer contribute to the English Wiki (Noetica correctly mentioned this), due to what occurred recently, that it was not I who vandalized Tastyummy's user page, which was incorrectly implied by Tastyummy above -- in fact, I reverted the vandalism upon first sight, but that person again vandalized it (that person probably used some previous sockpuppets as well), and it appears Tastyummy is ignorant of these, oddly enough. Observe Tastyummy's user page history for the details. In any case, farewell. Aey 01:23, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

- I offer all apologies to Aey for having implied that Aey was likely to have been responsible for the vandalism of my user page. I was still upset over the vandalism of my page at the time that I made this accusation and I do realize that I never had any hard evidence that he had done anything to harm it. I was simply looking for someone to blame out of childish spite. Aey, I am sorry for this; I would appreciate your return to Wikipedia if you can ever forgive my behavior. You have been a valuable asset to Wikipedia in teaching this new user respect for others, and I appreciate your trying to revert my page; I didn't even realize you had done this, probably because I had assumed bad faith. I hope never to behave this rudely again in the future.
- Again, I no longer have any problem with user:Aey and thus would like to withdraw this request for dispute resolution / mediation. Please inform me of the proper procedures and I will do so immediately.

- What would you like to change about that?
- I request that cleanup, doesn't cite sources, and unverified tags be removed from this page, since I think it meets all Wikipedia guidelines for each of these things.
- Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
- Yes, I would prefer this. I can be contacted at tastyummy@hotmail.com

I've taken the case, though there seems very little to do. --Marinus 06:36, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
