[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Kacper 13:37, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Lashkar-e-Toiba
Who's involved?
RichardSlater, Kacper.
What's going on?
RichardSlater

(1) Insists on presenting allegations and accusations as a matter of fact (including most of the facts in the last section); to this point, he refuses to reference to any source, not mentioning a scientific source (social/political science).

(2) Insists on using emotionally-charged slogans ("Pakistan-sponsored terrorist outfit", "extreme level of cold-blooded brutality", "children as young as one year old were murdered along with women and defenceless men") which, sadly, distorts the facts (= lies).

The above openly violates the Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy;

(3) Profusely uses unacceptable personal attacks ("Jihadi pseudo intellects", "half educated LeT sympathiser", "UK/EU back-packer") in edit comments and on Kacper's Talkpage.

Sadly, RichardSlater somehow failed to include any relevant information - including relations between LeT and other jihadi outfits; the split in the organisation, and resulting name changes; relations between LeT and its parent organisation (Jama'at-ud-Da'awa Pakistan as its actual name goes); etc.

Personally, during any interaction with RichardSlater I feel like talking to a person who has really no idea about the organisation he is writing about, including its history, finances, support base, political friends and foes, internal power struggles - but has simply read a couple of headlines on Lashkar-e-Toiba in Indian tabloids.

What would you like to change about that?
Have more balanced and unbiased information in the encyclopedia, possibly based on reliable sources. Possibly, ask him not to add unreferenced material (or referenced to tabloids or "public opinion" only), as well as to refrain from any emotionally unobjective statements on the subject. Also, stop him from making insults and insinuations.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Work at your convenience. You can discuss at Lashkar-e-Toiba talk page.

[edit] Mediator response

Contacting disputants. CQJ 17:56, 24 August 2006 (UTC)\

No contact from either disputant as of my signature. CQJ 18:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Closed due to inactivity. Both disputants were contacted, notification was made on the article talk page, but no one's biting. There was a five day window for anyone involved to make their case, but no one's here. Setting cat tags to close, if this becomes an issue again, disputants are invited to resubmit. CQJ 17:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Reset to open. Waiting for parties to contact. CQJ 16:51, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
