[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Telzer 11:03, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Discussion page on article Telshe Yeshiva.
Who's involved?
User Telzer and User Izak.
What's going on?
User Telzer as an alumnus of the Telshe Yeshiva is trying to broaden the article. He has requested advice from an admin about renaming the article and has suggested various options. Prior to admin dealing with request, User Izak has unilaterally made alterations without prior discussion. User Izak cites general rule of Wikipedia:Naming conventions and specifically Lowercase second and subsequent words. User Telzer cites specific rule Wikipedia:Naming conventions (schools) as article is about a school.
User Izak continues to take unilateral action without prior discussion. User Izak cries foul and that he has spent "hours" editing the article, althought User Telzer has spent considerablly more time researching and writing. While User Telzer has never taken umbrage at changes to his articles, Uzer Izak's unilateral action, self-righteous defense and accusatory nature make it difficult for User Telzer to want to contribute more to enhacing this article.
What would you like to change about that?
1)The institute should be named in accordance with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (schools), either the official name or a common name, but a correctly spelled one. As "yeshiva" is the Hebrew equivalent for university or college, it should be capitalised when part of a name. E.G. Harvard University, Cambridge University, Telshe Yeshiva.
2) User Telzer would also like User Izak to discuss major changes on the discussion page prior to engaging in unilateral action, and for him to actually take on board what other people say. Just because others may not agree with him or accept his word as gospel, does not mean they are in violation of Wikipedia:No personal attacks. User Izak appears to engage in wikilawyering.
Would you prefer we work discreetly? If so, how can we reach you?
Yes, please use discretion. Please contact me via my Email.
