- An edit war has damaged a good article, and it's now a non-good article. There's a flame war going on in the article's talk page at Talk:Hubbert peak theory. Reading that section will give you a sense of the problem. --John Nagle 20:00, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- What would you like to change about that?
- Personally, I was tempted to revert the article all the way back to just before those two became involved, and go on from there. But that's probably too drastic. It would probably be sufficient to discourage both parties from unilaterally making large changes to the article.

While using the talk page of the article in question to solve a dispute is encouraged to involve a larger audience, feel free to discuss the case below if that is not possible. Other mediators are also encouraged to join in on the discussion as Wikipedia is based on consensus.
I am "not interested in mediation" only insofar as, at the present time, there is nothing to mediate: not only had ruber chiken (talk • contribs) made relatively clear that they are not interested in pursuing mediation, they have since also come forward and said that the logistic function is, indeed, symmetric.
If and when there is an issue with two opposing parties, who both want mediation, I'm happy to go with the process (though I would, at this point, ask for a different mediator).
