[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Shinobu 00:49, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Oh My Goddess!
Who's involved?
Me, Cool Cat
What's going on?
The article contains several sections, among others one about the plot and one about whether the series should be named Oh My Goddess! or Ah My Goddess! - the ah-vs-oh section. Originally the ah-vs-oh section was the first section of the article.
When I thought about that I decided to move it below, since I thought it was sensible to have it at least below the plot section. However Cool Cat just reverted me.
So I decided to explain this matter on the talk page. I sort of hoped that this would convince him and I moved the section down again, just to be reverted again.
This issue has apparently not attracted third party attention, so no help there. I don't really know what else to do then to have an external party decide on this matter.
What would you like to change about that?
I want someone else to have a look at this. I thought my edit was the logical, sensible thing to do. I still can't believe that someone opposes it and I want to know what to do. Endlessly reverting each other won't yield a solution, which is why I initiated this request.
I would want to be able to improve the article (for instance, by writing a better WP:LEAD or something) sometime in the future, but if even this gets reverted right away, I don't really think that will be useful undertaking.
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
My talk page will be discreet enough for all purposes.
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
Possibly, but let's first see if we can find a solution here. Although a previous mediation case has resulted in a solution everyone could live with, I would first want to see what happens here. If I'm unable to work to a solution here, then it's hardly any use trying to have me mediate other peoples disagreements, is it?
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.

[edit] Mediator response

Notice to affected talkpage

I spoke with Cool Cat earlier and he'd already decided that it was in the best interests of all involved to simply not argue, so I've moved the case to "in mediation" with a status of "Resolved". ~Kylu (u|t) 15:43, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

First move down of ah-vs-oh section First revert Second move down Second revert

Cool Cat has been very involved with the article, for instance by putting work into the article trying to get it featured. Another reason why I don't want to get complicated with him. I think this the best way to keep the peace, so to speak.

[edit] Compromise offers

I can't think of any at the moment, but if I think of something I will add it here.

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.

WP:GTL has some guidelines on how to layout sections in an article. Cowman109Talk 01:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

On second thought, that seems to focus more on the technical side of things. If I can find some sort of policy that may assist in this case I'll be sure to link it here. Cowman109Talk 01:34, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

On articles first thing we explain is the title. If something is referanced in multiple names and/or languages, it is presented in lead. The naming of the series Oh My Goddess! is a complicated one mostly due to cultural difficulties translating japanese to english and hence is a complicated one. That is why it should be right after the lead if not a part of it (I think its to complicated to be in lead). --Cat out 11:18, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Actualy on a second thought, I dont care. :) --Cat out 15:04, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
