[edit] Request Information

Request made by: WillBriggs 06:45, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
Mankind_Project entry
Who's involved?
...An anonymous editor at IP 66.118.223.6
What's going on?
The anonymous editor wishes to include his view that ManKind Project is an example of an LGAT, but is doing this by cutting-and-pasting large amounts of text from the LGAT entry, and from email conversations, directly into the ManKind Project page, at times damaging the other text.
What would you like to change about that?
My preference is that the issue just go away, but since it probably won't . . . I would like the page to look neat and professional, and adhere to NPOV -- and I would like someone more experienced than me to decide how best to do this. I'd hate to have to put up a "controversy" warning; AFAIK this is not usually a controversial topic!
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
My talk page is fine.
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
I'll give it a try!

[edit] Mediator response

This case was removed from the opentasks list and explained as being resolved, though no comment was left on the cases page. I am inquiring here to see if there is still any other need for mediation. If not, I will close this case and have it archived. Thanks. Cowman109Talk 18:19, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

I commented on the talk page--it's my first mediation here so I wasn't sure if there was something else I had to do. If a third opinion is all that's necessary, the issue is resolved and won't need further mediation unless the disputed text reappears. --Grace 09:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Alright, then. Thanks. I will list this case as closed, then. If mediation is still requested I would recommend a new case be filed, though this one will be on my watchlist as well. Cowman109Talk 20:27, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

[edit] Compromise offers

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.

I've left a comment on the ManKind Project talk page. The issue seems fairly simple to me and I hope this resolves it. --Grace 12:38, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, Grace. --WillBriggs 02:15, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
