Where is the issue taking place?
...on the article Criticism of Mormonism
Who's involved?
...Focuses mostly on one editor User:A.J.A.
What's going on?
...I have tried logic, posed questions, and offered alternative edits, egaged personally (badly), and the result is he insists that the article only meet his standars. The problem is that he does not have a deep grasp of Mormonism or Theology.
What would you like to change about that?
...I would like him to engage in discussion about edits proposed from all invovled
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
...Best to contact me on my email; it is on my user page. Storm Rider (talk) 02:29, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
...I have attempted mediation on othe articles and enjoyed the process. If you ever would like assistance, just let me know.
This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.

[edit] Mediator response

[edit] Mediator background

I am theologically trained and have studied Mormonism and LDS theology.

[edit] Initial mediator response

I have familiarized myself with the users involved, read through the history of discussions, and have put aside an area of the relevant talk page for discussion of the issues. I will make my initial points and moderate a discussion there.

[edit] Update

I am moderating a discussion with users about each section of the article, in order to reach a consensus. A.J.A. is currently on a 3RR ban. He has so far ignored the mediation and demonstrated he is unwilling to co-operate with a discussion about the issues. For now I will continue with the discussion with the others on the Talk page. David L Rattigan 11:03, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

A.J.A. did not appear interested in a mediation. He seems to have backed off from the article now, and other users are negotiating sensibly, so I am withdrawing from mediation and closing the case. David L Rattigan 15:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

A.J.A. blocked for 3RR. See Block Log. David L Rattigan 12:07, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Compromise offers
