[edit] Request Information
- Request made by: Cjosefy 13:56, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Where is the issue taking place?
- The NoZe Brotherhood, Talk:The_NoZe_Brotherhood
- Who's involved?
- User:Mel Etitis, User:Cjosefy, User:IronChefSakai, User:LtPowers
- What's going on?
- Disagreement on whether The NoZe Brotherhood should be termed a "secret society" or a "student society" in the opening sentence of the article.
- What would you like to change about that?
- I would like more outside views on this issue. During a RfC User:LtPowers made comments leaning towards using "secret society", however, User:Mel Etitis seems to take issue with this.
- If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?
- Talk page is fine.
- Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?
- No.
-
- This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
- what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.
- ...
[edit] Mediator response
After viewing the edit history of this article as well as the RfC response, I see a couple things:
- The RfC response suggested using collegiate secret society
- The edit history does not show this change anywhere
I believe that "collegiate secret society" satisfies both parties. It acknowledges that the group is a secret society, while also acknowledging that is it a student-run organization.
Please edit the article according to the RfC recommendation. Amalas =^_^= 16:58, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
The introductory link was changed as recommended, so this case is now closed. Amalas =^_^= 19:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Evidence
Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.
[edit] Compromise offers
This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
