[edit] Request Information

Request made by: Ellis2ca 12:01, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Where is the issue taking place?
... on the wikipedia discussion page of Randal McCloy
Who's involved?
... Ellis Toussier, and two parties "J Shultz" and "el Benito"
What's going on?
... Randal McCloy is the lone miner that survived the Sago, West Virginia, coal mining accident in January, 2006. I have been a critic of the lack of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber near the coal mine, and lack of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber in the hospitals in West Virginia. I called by telephone from Mexico to alert doctors that he needed hyperbaric oxygen, which was finally given to him two days after the accident.

However, he was only given 3 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen, perhaps enough to remove the carbon monoxide from his blood, but he needed and still needs more than 100 hyperbaric oxygen sessions, at 3 atmospheres of pressure. He also needs other treatment to recover his nervous system, because it is obvious that he has suffered brain damage since he cannot tie his shoes, and he did not know that this is the year 2006. The lack of proper medical treatment in his case is affecting his health.

I wrote a section of the page which I titled "Critic says that McCloy's Medical treatment is "lacking"" (or something like that) and Shultz has erased it three times. According to el Benito and/or Shultz, I am a quack... for which reason I called Shultz an ignoramus and a fool and a disgrace to his profession of microbiology. Again, they erased my criticism of his medical treatment. It is as if you cannot criticize doctors, or their medical treatment which is lacking... this seems to offend el Benito and Shultz, but what is important here is to help the patient, and not, protect the doctors' ego. Shultz says my criticism is "too silly to leave in" and I say that I am an expert in what I am saying, even if I am not a doctor... I also say Shultz is acting as a criminal because his censoring my criticism hurts the patient, he is censoring it because it criticizes doctors.

I can get other doctors to back up what I am saying has to be done, but maybe they will not accept to criticize other doctors. I am not criticizing any doctor in particular, because what happens is that each doctor is a specialist and a good doctor in what he does, but there is no specialist here that is recovering McCloy's neurological system as I say is of extreme importance. How do I know this? Because it is not coming out in the news.

What would you like to change about that?

I want my criticism to be left in as an integral and necessary part of this page, for many reasons: to protect coal miners in the future so that they have hyperbaric oxygen chambers near their coal mines in case of a future accident, and so that the treatment to recover the nervous system will be known to other doctors who may study this page. The problem is that McCloy has had good doctors, but none that has been part of the team knew about hyperbaric oxygen, or growth hormone, or EPO, or the other therapies that I am suggesting for the good of the patient.

...
If you'd prefer we work discreetly, how can we reach you?

You can work discreetly or openly, I don't care whose reputation you hurt if it has to be hurt, I don't want to hurt anybody, I want to help Randal McCloy. But you can reach me at telephone 011 5255 5280 3644 in Mexico City, or etoussier@hotmail.com put Subject: Wikipedia Mediation Cabal so that I recognize it and don't erase without opening it.

...
Would you be willing to be a mediator yourself, and accept a mediation assignment in a different case?

yes, of course.

This is, following the Categorical Imperative, the idea that you might want to do
what you expect others to do. You don't have to, of course, that's why it's a question.

[edit] Mediator response

An experienced Mediation Cabal mediator will be needed for this case as I think the requesting user's involvement in edit disputes would preclude acting as a mediator. I'd be grateful if a mediator would please take up this case; not, of course, to impugn the requesting user, but merely to ensure the mediation is more successful. --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) 19:42, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Evidence

Please report evidence in this section with {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence}} for misconduct and {{Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Evidence3RR}} for 3RR violations. If you need help ask a mediator or an advocate. Evidence is of limited use in mediation as the mediator has no authority. Providing some evidence may, however, be useful in making both sides act more civil.
Wikipedia:Etiquette: Although it's understandably difficult in a heated argument, if the other party is not as civil as you'd like them to be, make sure to be more civil than him or her, not less.

[edit] Compromise offers

This section is for listing and discussing compromise offers.
