Medion

Medion AG is a German company which sells consumer electronics products. It operates in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. The main products are computers, TVs , refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment. The company is becoming popular in Europe and is just starting out in North America. Medion products in Australia are available exclusively at Aldi, with some products (such as DVD players) being branded Tevion. Some of their laptops are selling in North America in Best Buy stores. Also sold in Canada at Future Shop as Cicero Computers. Somerfield and Aldi supermarkets in the United Kingdom now stock 17" Medion TFT monitors, Portable Digital Audio Players, Satellite Navigation systems, desktops, laptops and Personal Digital Assistants. Woolworths in the United Kingdom also stock Medion laptops and desktop packages that include tower unit, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and printer. Woolworth stores also stock a few of Medion's laptop range, Tesco have also been known to stock a Medion satellite navigation system.

The gpl-violations.org project has claimed that a Medion notebook model violates the terms of the GPL. In 2005, the Medion MD95500 came pre-installed with "Cyberlink PowerCinema Linux" but did not refer to the GPL, and the source code was not published.[1]
