[edit] Chess Room Directors
I restored the list of Chess Room Directors to the page. It would be nice if we could add dates of service to the list, if that information is available. 165.189.91.148 15:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- At present this list is unencyclopaedic and unsourced. Please see WP:CITE and WP:V that says Information on Wikipedia must be reliable and verifiable. Facts, viewpoints, theories, and arguments may only be included in articles if they have already been published by reliable and reputable sources. Articles should cite these sources whenever possible. Any unsourced material may be challenged and removed. If you can independently source these names and provide dates then they can go back. Pending that, they must stay out as a breach of Wikipedia policy.
- I think you are wrong as a matter of policy. It would have been more reasonable to request references with the {{unreferenced}} or {{fact}} tags. You skipped the challenge and went straight to removal, which is justified if the claims are extraordinary but rude in cases like this one where it is clear on their face that the claims are likely to be true. That John Donaldson is the current director of the MI can be verified from the official link already on the article, and I think it is also mentioned in his wikipedia bio. I didn't restore James Eade to the list because I couldn't verify he had been director, although it seems very plausible from his wikipedia bio. 165.189.91.148 17:50, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you; this is now encyclopaedic. BlueValour 17:56, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
