Mecheda (Bengali: মেছেদা) is a town in the West Bengal, India. The town is in proximity to Haldia, Tamluk, and Midnapore.
During the winter, weather is relatively warmer than other place in Purba Medinipur. The infrastructural progress of Mecheda in becomming a modern town is eye catching.
[edit] Education
People from all over India are employed in the town due to the Thermal Power plant. The native people are still lacking. Many schools exist, such as: 1. Gopalganj High School. 2. K.T.P.P. High school. 3. Santipur Sishu sikshayatan.

Summers are hot, but the winters are mild with the mercury hardly going below 9oC.
