McKeeva Bush

William McKeeva Bush (born January 20, 1955) is a Cayman Islands politician and the Leader of the Opposition. He has represented the district of West Bay in the Legislative Assembly continuously since 1984. He is now the longest serving member and is referred to as the "Father of the House".

Mr. Bush has served on previous Executive Councils (renamed the Cabinet in 2003) as the Member (Minister) for Health and Human Services, 1992-94, Minister for Community Development, Sports, Women's and Youth Affairs and Culture, 1994-97, and Minister for Tourism, Environment and Transport, 2000-2001. In winning his fifth term in 2000, he led the Better Balance Team to take all four of West Bay's seats. In November 2001 he was a founding member of the United Democratic Party. He served as the Leader of Government Business from 2001-May 2005, serving an extra seven months owed to the postponing of the elections until well after Hurricane Ivan to ensure governmental stability. His party lost four seats largely due to a lackluster response to Hurricane Ivan tainted with corruption and as such he is now the Leader of the Opposition and also the Leader of the United Democratic Party. He is also associated with overseeing 3000 Caymanian Status grants via cabinet, that has caused much social friction, and anger amongst the Caymanian population.

A self-employed businessman, he is married to Kerry, and the couple have two children.
