McBaine, Missouri

McBaine is an unincorporated community in Boone County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 17 at the 2000 census.

McBaine is located at 38°53′15″N, 92°26′56″W (38.887445, -92.448875)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²), all land.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 17 people, 9 households, and 2 families residing in the town. The population density was 28.5/km² (73.2/mi²). There were 12 housing units at an average density of 20.1/km² (51.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White.

There were 9 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, none were married couples living together, 33.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 66.7% were non-families. 44.4% of all households were made up of individuals and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.89 and the average family size was 2.67.

In the town the population was spread out with 29.4% under the age of 18, 17.6% from 18 to 24, 41.2% from 25 to 44, 11.8% from 45 to 64, . The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 70.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 71.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $21,875, and the median income for a family was $20,625. Males had a median income of $0 versus $20,625 for females. The per capita income for the town was $10,112. There are 33.3% of families living below the poverty line and 35.3% of the population, including 40.0% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
