Mbare is a high-density suburb of Harare, Zimbabwe. It was established in 1907 and at the time was located near the city cemetery, sewage works, and abatoir. It was originally called Harare Township, a name later on used for the capital city itself. It was the first high-density suburb (township) established in Harare.
