[edit] Hello!!

Hello, its good to see a Hindu from our neighbouring country...otherwise Hindu meant only Indian :-) Welcome!! Rohitbd 10:13, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Don't think that hidus only live in India. I'm a native Sri Lankan but I'm a Hindu, Most of the Sri lankan Tamils are hindus but most the sinhalees are budist not hindus. TC :--Mayooresan 10:19, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Oh I didn't mean that Hindus live only in India - just that we as a community are the least spread across the world...and if I come across a Hindu, he/she is almost always Indian (or the occassional NRI/foreigner of Indian origin)...Indeed, if you look at the Category:Hindu Wikipedians, most are either Indians or NRIs or PIOs or of Indian origin. Rohitbd 10:31, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I agree with you Anyway nice to meet you too :-) --Mayooresan 10:34, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ashantha De Mel

I was just updating List of Sri Lankan ODI cricketers, and I noticed the case of Ashantha De Mel. Cricinfo use both de Mel and De Mel, other sources also use both. Do you happen to know which is more likely, or indeed, actually correct? --Paul 08:27, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

I have no idea about this. I'll ask from my frind who's name is De Silva, Hope he will gimme the answer. Thanks--Mayooresan 09:51, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Confused with tamil letters

Hi, I'm very much interested in developing articles in Tamil. but my problem is i have to learn typing in Tamil. give me some time to learn it, then i will start my contributions. Please give me some links where i can learn the tips and tricks on typing Tamil characters.

--M.arunprasad 05:55, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Go to tamil wikipedia's sand box there u can find enough links to type tamil characters. Using suratha's page you can type அருன்பிரசாத் by typing arunpirachaath.--Mayooresan 12:44, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Mayooresan, but still i couldn't type the exact letters i want. I started with nanri, but it started with 'ன' instead of 'ந'. anyway 'மிக்க நன்றி' came fine, so மிக்க நன்றி தோழரெ --M.arunprasad 13:17, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

நீங்கள் தமிழில் அழகாக தட்டச்சு செய்துள்ளீர்கள். வாழ்த்துக்கள்! --Mayooresan 08:38, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Scouting article work

If you are getting this, it is because you do or did work on Scouting articles (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting#Participants_and_primary_areas_of_interest).

As the Scouting WikiProject has been formed since early January 2006, we've had many great improvements made in this area of Wiki and I want to personally thank everyone for their help. We don't always agree on things, but we keep moving forward. YIS, Rlevse 22:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sinhala writing

Vanakkam Mayooresan! You seem to know a lot about rendering Tamil letters in WP. Do you know how to render Sinhala script as well? I would greatly appreciate your help on this. Thanks in anticipation, Krankman 23:16, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sinhala language

Hi Mayooreesan!

(I still haven't figured out how to render Sinhala script. But that's not the problem at the moment.) User:Pjacobi recommended you to me in this matter. I know that since you are Tamil your position in this question is a little difficult, yet I am kindly asking you to watch this page. I made major adjustments that may cause some upstir which I fear might come from less qualified people and might be politically/ethnically motivated. I'd be happy if you could look at the discussion to find out about the history of the article. And support me (if you see fit and it doesn't undermine my argument) if necessary.

Thanks a lot, Krankman 21:28, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I'll try my best to support that article. since I don't have a backround of Sinhala language I won't be able to support as you wish. Any how I'll try my best... Thanks --Mayooresan 06:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Mayooresan, thanks for the edit to Soman's template. I've made a small change so that the suffix doesn't stand isolated. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 10:16, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your corrections. I did more edits please check those edits also. --Mayooresan 10:39, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
