Mayank Sahu was born in Nagpur, India in 1997. He is considered a child prodigy in music world. According to renowned musicians in India he was born blessed with a perfect pitch which is an exceptional ability to decompose sounds (in most cases those produced from musical instruments including the violin, piano, synthesizer, flute, and guitar) back to their original notes. For example, if one plays a random combination of piano keys say “F#, A, G, B flat, D#” together then after listening to the mixed sound he or anybody who has perfect pitch can name the exact notes which were played to produced the sound. This is an ability rarely found among experienced musicians including those who have devoted their lives to music. For his remarkable ability Mayank's name is recognized in the 2002 edition of the Limca Book of Records when he was less than 4 years old.

It should be noted that the perfect pitch is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition to become a good musician, it is considered as an ancillary ability of musicians which can certainly give them an edge over others.

Mayank by birth knows how to play synthesizer, harmonium, piano, tabla, violin, and many more musical instruments. He can sing while he is plays one of those instruments. By the age on 9 he had given more than 100 concerts in India.

Mayank lost his eye sight when he was less than a year old due to a heavy dose of antibiotic. He has beautiful working eyes and a wonderful brain but his optic nerves were burnt by an antibiotic medicine.

Mayank composes his own music and plays it on piano. Although he cannot see and read the written music but he can reproduce any piece of music just listening to it.
